Overcast condition and fog keeps Kashmir cold

Srinagar, Nov 25 : Gulmarg is the coldest place in Kashmir on Thursday at minus 1.2 degrees Celsius as the mercury rose due to an overcast sky in the valley during the night. Night temperature at most places showed improvement, but fog condition made life difficult as the MeT office said, weather is most likely to remain cold and dry till November end across Jammu and Kashmir. Srinagar recorded 0.4 degree Celsius against the 0.3 on Wednesday. However, fog engulfed most places including the famous Dal Lake and Boulevard road.

"We have passed the 50 percent threshold mark of all Israeli citizens who received the second dose of the vaccine. Thanks to all of them, the State of Israel is defeating coronavirus. All that remains is to follow the instructions so that coronavirus does not return," Edelstein said on Twitter.

Panaji, Jan 19 (UNI) Debutant Filmmaker Sharan Venugopal has expressed happiness over his film Oru Paathira Swapnam Pole being selected and screened at 51st International Film Festival of India (IFFI). Speaking about his 37-minute Malayalam non-feature film (Oru Paathira Swapnam Pole), Venugopal said, “It is very tough to define where one’s personal boundaries end. The film is set against this plot.” The title translates as ‘Like a Midnight Dream’.

SKUAST-Jammu organized World Earth Day

In continuation to celebration of ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’, NSS and NAHEP IDP, SKUAST-J, under the able guidance of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor SKUAST-Jammu Prof. J.P.Sharma celebrated ‘World Earth Day 2022’. The programme was organised for UG students of the University with an objective to inculcate the habit of consciousness towards mother earth. In the welcome address, Dr. B.C. Sharma Team leader of NAHEP-IDP project stressed the need of protecting natural resources and their proper utilization for future generation. Prof. Rajesh Katoch, Dean Students Welfare also spoke on the occasion and emphasised on the need to inculcate the habit of rational use of natural resources. He stressed upon the need to minimise the emission of pollution in the air to save mother earth for future generations. On the occasion, expert lecture was delivered by Dr. V.M.Arya on the topic “Climate Change and Agriculture: Impacts, Adaptation and Mitigation.” Student’s interaction session was also organised in which students participated with great zeal. The programme was coordinated By Dr. Subhash C Kashyap, NSS programme Coordinator. Programme was supervised by Dr. Nomita Laishram, NSS Programme Officer and Sanveet Kour, Young Professional-II, IDP SKUAST- Jammu. The programme ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Arvinder Singh, NSS Programme Officer of Faculty of Agriculture SKUAST-Jammu.
