To commemorate Armed Force Flag Day2021 and celebration of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav, NSS wing of SKUAST-Jammu, under the able guidance of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor SKUAST-Jammu Prof J.P. Sharma and Deans Student Welfare Prof Rajesh Katoch organised a function for volunteer donation towards Army Welfare Fund. On the occasion, Prof. J. P. Sharma highlighted the significance of the armed Force Flag day to the young NSS volunteers of SKUAST-Jammu. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor emphasised that such types of celebrations will inculcate patriotism among the young generations. He also stressed upon to inculcate Indian culture and values in all spheres/aspects of life. Prof. Sharma advised to invite the war heroes /warwidows from Jammu region in future events to be honoured by the university authorities. The function ended with donations from all the individuals present during the function as well as from all divisions of Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Basic Sciences and Faculty of Veterinary sciences & A.H. The donation so collected will be deposited to the account of Zila Sainik Welfare office Jammu for the welfare of families of soldiers killed or disabled in performing their duty during War/hostile actions. The programme was organised by Prof. Rajesh Katoch, Dean student welfare and team of NSS instructors of Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of VeterinarySciences. Dr Subhash C Kashyap, Dr. Arvinder Singh, Dr Nomita, Dr Sushmita, Dr Kawardeep, Dr Divyendu, Dr R Punia and Dr. Anil Bhat were also present during the occassion.
