Arvind meets Chief Secretary, discusses vaccination status

Srinagar 9 July : Jammu and Kashmir, BJP, Secretary, Arvind Gupta, who has been nominated as Vaccination Incharge for liaison with the administration on behalf of the party, held a meeting with the Chief Secretary, Arun Kumar Mehta, at Srinagar.
During this meeting, the progress of the ongoing vaccination exercise was discussed in length and the Chief Secretary shared the latest data with the BJP leader.
According to the Chief Secretary, till date, 92% population of the people of 45 plus age have been vaccinated with the first dose and 18% of the population among the 18 plus age are those who too have been injected the 1st dose. In total, as per figures, 42, 38, 916 people are covered with 1ST dose and 8, 07,606 people comes in the group who have been given even 2nd dose.
The BJP leader was also informed that the UT government has set a target to cover 70% of the population by August end so that the chances of 3rd wave are bleak to touch J&K and that the people should also understand the need to keep following the Appropriate Covid Behaviour till J&K becomes virus free.
The Chief Secretary also shared that Jammu and Kashmir has achieved the distinction of being on rank first in vaccination, adding that the united efforts of DG family welfare and his team, alongwith Corona Warriors, has given good results. He also informed that a target of 100% vaccination of 1st dose to 45+ age group has been fixed and work is in progress for this exercise.
Arvind Gupta told Chief Secretary that his team in BJP is extending help to the people in matters related to vaccination and that the doctors and para-medicos posted in Vaccination Centres set up by the Health Department are serving the people very well. He also expressed gratitude to the UT administration for making adequate arrangements for the benefits of the people for getting vaccinated
