Cabinet approves standardised E-bidding process to make natural gas pricing mechanism transparent

New Delhi, Oct 7 (UNI) The Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday approved a standardised E-bidding process to make natural gas pricing mechanism transparent.

Briefing reporters after the meeting, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who was flanked by Union Ministers Prakash Javadekar and Piyush Goyal, said,’ Our dependency on importing fossil fuels is decreasing. To make natural gas pricing mechanism transparent, Cabinet today approved a standardised E-bidding process.’

Guidelines will be made for E-bidding, he added.

Mr Pradhan said the government wants to provide energy to Indian consumers at an affordable price.

‘For this, we want to provide energy through various sources like solar, bio-fuels, bio-gas, synthetic gas and many more,’ he said further.

Mr Javadekar said a Memorandum of Cooperation has been signed with Japan for the exchange of knowledge and technology on cybersecurity and other cooperation.

Another MoU has been signed with Canada on bar-coding of the faunal genome, he informed.
