Bhopal, Apr 21 : The CBI has placed under arrest a CGST and Central Excise official, posted here, while accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh. A case was registered against two superintendents, namely Ankur Khandelwal and Chetan Saxena, on the basis of a complaint that they initially demanded inducement of Rs 10 lakh for ‘settling’ a CGST case against the complainant’s partnership firm. The federal investigating agency laid a trap and apprehended Khandelwal on Wednesday, a CBI release said. Searches conducted on the local premises of both accused led to seizure of incriminating documents and articles.
