Central University HP campuses coming up at Dehra, Dharamshala: VC

Dharamshala, Jun 17 : The Vice-Chancellor of the Central University Himachal Pradesh Dr. Roshan Lal Sharma on Thursday made it emphatically clear that the University is coming up in two campuses with its headquarter here and Complexes of heavy infrastructure will be built at Dehra and less heavy infrastructure at Dharamshala.
He said that the university on June 14, 2021, has got the possession of the land at Dehra. The report of the Geological Survey of India is awaited for the work to be done on the land of Jadrangal in Dharamsala. He said that based on that report the next strategy will be prepared. Vice chancellor said that both the places are necessary for the campus building of the university.
Vice-Chancellor of the Central University was speaking during a press conference held at the University, Dhauladhar Campus-I, Seminar Hall on Thursday. He said that the round of meetings is going on since the land was acquired. This is a long process. University administration is fully alert and efforts are on to complete all the processes as soon as possible.
The building construction committee meeting is to be held soon. Responding to a question on ignoring the temporary campuses of Dharamsala and Shahpur, he said that it would be wrong to speculate that Dehra is being given importance and Dharamsala and Shahpur are being ignored.
Regarding the question asked about the land of Jadrangal, University Registrar Hem Raj Thakur said that the team of the Ministry of Environment and Forests had conducted a survey there. Jadrangal’s land which is divided into 16 plots, if we can bring it as one plot, then it will be fine. In this regard, he has given guidelines to the administration.
