COVID-19: Thane reports 33 more fatalities, over 1.6k new cases

Thane, Sep 27 (UNI) In the past 24 hours, 33 patients succumbed to the COVID-19 while 1,621 new cases were detected across Thane, pushing this district’s pandemic tally to 1,68,634, stated a district official on Sunday.
On Saturday, the highest 428 cases were reported from the limits of the Thane civic body followed by Kalyan Dombivli (376) and Navi Mumbai (309), the official apprised.
Meanwhile, the towns of Bhiwandi and Badlapur reported none deaths in the preceding day.
With the new additions of infected individuals, Kalyan suburb’s caseload has now crossed 41,000-mark while the tally in the cities of Thane and Navi Mumbai has breached 35,000-mark.
So far, 1,46,359 or 86.79 per cent cases out of total tally have recovered while 4,335 people or 2.57 per cent have died of the contagion.
Presently, there are 17,940 active cases under medical supervision, official added.
Similarly, the distant Palghar district has tallied 33,822 cases and 650 fatalities till now, said latest official data.
