Delhi facing acute shortage of COVID-19 vaccines: Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain

New Delhi, May 10 (UNI) Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain on Monday said the National Capital is facing an acute shortage of COVID-19 vaccines, with just one day’s worth of Covaxin, and 3-4 days’ worth Covishield in stock.
”Delhi is facing an acute shortage of vaccines. For Covaxin, we have stock only for one day left, and for Covishield, only 3-4 days’ stock is available. We really want the entire population of Delhi to be vaccinated and are conducting a mass vaccination drive,” Mr Jain said.
According to an official statement, Mr Jain said a 400-bedded isolation and treatment centre for Covid patients has been set up at the Gurudwara Rakab Ganj by the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee.
He added that the Delhi government would extend every form of support to this centre.
Mr Jain went on to state that this centre has been attached with LNJP Hospital, wherein in case a patient develops critical symptoms, he/she will be shifted to the hospital.
In a tweet, Mr Jain said, ”The 400 bedded Covid Care & treatment Center at Gurudwara Rakab Ganj is commencing service from today. Visited the facility to review the amenities. It is equipped with
oxygen support and medicines. Thankful to Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee for their
undying support.”
