Dhaulasidh project: HP Cong demands action against SJVN

Hamirpur (HP), July 15 : Himachal Pradesh Congress Social Media Department President and spokesperson Abhishek Rana submitted a memorandum to the Hamirpur Deputy Commissioner in connection with the alleged rigging in the Dhaulasiddh hydroelectric project located in between Nadaun and Sujanpur.

During this, a large number of Congress activists and people from the area affected by the project were also present there.
Abhishek alleged that SJVN and Ritwik Company were violating the contract with the people. If action is not taken soon by the administration, then there will be a sit-in protest against the project.
He said an RTI was also filed in Nadaun police station on the issue of employment in Dhaulasidh project, through which it was found that 140 people from states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand were working in the project , whereas it was promised earlier to give cent percent jobs to the local affected people.
Rana said it was clear from the RTI that the Dhaulasidh project was giving attention to outsiders and locals were being ignored in violation of the contract by SJVN and Ritwik Company.

Abhishek said the people who gave land for the Dhaulasidh project were being exploited. He said the BJP government led by Jai Ram Thakur was already unable to provide employment to the people of the state and if people from outside states were given employment here, then where will the local people go?

He told the media that a memorandum was given to the administration demanding timely steps to help the locals and if no proper action was taken on this, then in the coming time, a massive agitation would be launched against the Dhaulasidh power project authorities.
