Free COVID vaccine for all: Health Minister

New Delhi, Jan 2 (UNI) Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Saturday informed that the vaccine for novel coronavirus will be administered free of cost to all across the country.
“Not only in Delhi, the vaccine will be free of cost across India”, the Health Minister said while speaking to media after reviewing the dry vaccination run at the Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) hospital here.
Dr Vardhan later, through social media, apprised that the vaccine will be initially given to 1 Cr healthcare & 2 Cr frontline workers. He also said that the details of vaccinating the 27 cr more beneficiary during the first phase of vaccine run are being finalised.
India has been preparing on war-footing, the massive exercise it had to undertake, to vaccinate the people with anti-COVID shot. “The Healthcare workers have been trained just like personnel’s are trained during the election process,” Dr Vardhan said.
The country is currently undergoing dry run of the COVID-19 vaccination that began earlier in the day in 125 districts and 285 places across the nation to identify the problems and other aspects related to the vaccination campaign.
