Govt ready for talks with farmers: Tomar

New Delhi, Dec 10 (UNI) The government has once again said that it is open to talk to farmers on the shortcomings of the new agriculture laws.
Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Food Supplies Minister Piyush Goel, in a joint press conference here on Thursday, said that all ways were open on discussion regarding the shortcomings of the new agriculture laws.

The government has given a proposal of amending the new laws.
The farmers have turned down the proposals and asked to repeal the laws, while also demanding to give legal status to MSP.

The ryots have also announced to intensify their agitation. There have been five rounds of talks already between farmers and government, ending in no conclusion.

Both the Ministers have once again asked the peasants to end the protest and gave them proposal to amend the laws once again.

Mr Tomar said the government’s goal was to double the farmers’ income by 2022.

He said the government wants to improve the economic condition of farmers and the economy of rural areas, as well.
