Hamirpur (HP), Jan 8 : The health department authorities of the district have issued orders for mandatory Covid test of people visiting the hospitals to get checkup for any ailment.
This order has been issued in the wake of spurt in Covid cases in the district.
The new order issued on Friday has led to detection of more Covid cases and it will help the department to contain the virus spreading in the community, a spokesman of the Health Department told UNI on Saturday.
The number of active cases in the district stands at 233.
Meanwhile, following orders from the state government, the health department authorities have intensified their collecting samples for Covid.
The sampling work in NIT Hamirpur where corona infection has spread on a large number.
The health department authorities also said the teams of the department started collecting samples from hotels and guest houses where the parents of the corona infected students of the NIT had stayed.
Moreover, it has also sought complete details of the students who had recently taken part in an NCC camp in the district and from where the infection had spread to the NIT students.
