IAF team carries remains of MIG aircraft to Bathinda

Moga, May 22 (UNI) A six-member digging team of Indian Air Force (IAF) dug out remains of crashed MIG Bison fighter aircraft and took them to Bathinda. The team dug around 10 to 12 feet deep and then found the remains of the crashed fighter aircraft.
After this, the one and a half dozen IAF investigation team from Bathinda, Halwara and from outside the state inspected the fields of Langeana village, where the MIG 21 crashed at 2345 hrs on Friday night.
The Punjab Police was also present at the site.
The IAF investigation team alongwith six member digging team arrived at Langeana village early Saturday morning to investigate the cause of MIG-21 crash on Friday night after the heavy rains.
The fighter aircraft crashed into the fields of the village and body of pilot Squadron Leader Abhinav Chaudhary was found two kms away from the crash site. The MIG-21 ventured 10-15 feet below into the fields.
According to the latest information provided by the police, though the pilot had used the parachute in a bid to land but his seat could not be detached, resulting in the pilot landing with the seat and that was the reason of his death. His neck was broken due to impact of fall on the ground.
