International Anticorruption Day and Workshop on Heartfullness inaugurated today at Baba Jitto Auditorium of SKUAST-Jammu. The function was inaugurated by Sh. Rajinder Sharma, Hon’ble Mayor in the presence of Prof. J.P. Sharma, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu. JMC Mayor during the address while talking about corruption and nepotism asked the college and university students to take the pledge in weeding out corruption from the society so that the common people do not suffer because of evils of the society. He also mentioned about Padh Yatra, which is first of its Kind in the whole country, and was also organized by Jammu municipal corporation.
Prof. J.P. Sharma, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu during his address spoke about corruption prevailing in society in different forms. He exhorted upon the students , faculty and administrative staff to do the assigned roles sincerely. Prof. Sharma also deliberated on importance of Heartfulness workshop for students for hosting development of their personalities. He underlined the importance of such courses in curriculum of the students. He expressed gratitude to Heartfulness Education Trust Telangana for initiative to organize workshop at SKUAST-JAMMU.
Dr. Rajpal Mangotra from Heartfulness Education Trust made aware about the programmes of their organization for students and encouraged more participants for such type of workshops. He said that the trust has already organized a professional leadership programme, which helps the students to perform well in academics and also in other fields. He informed the audience that Heartfulness Agro Summit for Youth will also conducted during in 12th-14th January, 2023 to mark the National Youth Day in Kanashantivaram.
Earlier Colonel D.S. Jamwal conducted first session of the workshop in the theme “Connection”. Dr. Subhash Kahsyap, Organizing secretary of the workshop conducted session of the workshop on heartfulness.
The function was attended by all the statutory officers of the University, Head of the Divisions, faculty, non-teaching staff and students.
Prof. Sushil Gupta, Registrar of the University welcomed all the dignitaries and participants.. Rakesh Nanda, Director Education presented formal vote of thanks and Dr. Manmohan Sharma conducted proceedings of the function.
