Jammu :Div Comm late night surprised visits to Gladni and Janipur Grid Stations

Jammu, June 12: Following power crisis in Jammu during peak summer season, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr Raghav Langer today paid surprised visits to Gladni and Janipur Grid Stations to have a look on the over all scenario of electric supply in Jammu.

In order to review the overall power scenario during the peak load time from 8 pm to 11 pm, Divisional Commissioner Jammu along with Chief Engineer PDD (M&RE) Ashwani Sachdeva visited Gladni and Janipur Grid Stations in late hours today and reviewed the status of 132 & 33 KV feeders.

It was heartening to find the Executive Engineers of TLMD/STD/M&RE jointly supervising the power availability status in the region.

The Div Com also inspected the e-customer care support centre of JPDCL and appreciated the fact that even at 11 pm staff is fully activated to ensure immediate redressal of public grievances and to ensure maintenance of essential services.

The Chief Engineer apprised the Div Com that capacity of 220 & 132 KV lines is being greatly enhanced. As on today, a peak demand of 1261 MW in Jammu division is being met by the Department which is around 100 MW more than last year. At present there are power outages in only 35 distribution transformer locations.

The Divisional administration is keeping a close watch on the timely completion of Barn, Ghatti & IGC Samba Grid stations which shall further improve the power supply to various regions of the division.
