J&K Police arrests 4 drug peddlers in Kashmir

Srinagar, July 20 : Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested four drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from them in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Police party Janglatmandi laid down a blockade at Bilal Colony and apprehended three drug peddlers identified as Waseem Ahmad Alie, a resident of Chaindain Panjan Kulgam, Abid Hussain Peer of Soaf Shali Kokernag and Hussain Ahmad Ganie, a resident of Khalhaar Kokernag along with 10 grams Heroin, police said.

In a similar incident police at a checkpoint at Achdar Khiram intercepted one person walking towards Khiram carrying a nylon bag on his shoulder, during his search, police party recovered about 5 kgs of Bung Bosa and 400 gms of Charas powder from him.

The accused disclosed his identity as Dilawar Ahmad Khan son of Khan Zaman, resident of Achdar Khiram.

All the four accused were arrested and cases under relevant sections of law were registered against them, police added.
