Jammu, May 12th,2022: – As part of public outreach programme to improve the Police-Public relations, efficiency, transparency and accountability in Policing at grassroot level in all districts and to develop confidence and synergy with citizens. The event “Thana Diwas” an initiative of Government of J&K, was conducted by J&K Police today in all districts of Jammu Province led by district SSsP and Addl. SsP in their respective Police Stations. It is pertinent to mention that this event is being observed on 2nd and last Thursday of every month.
The main objective of this event is that the various issues of public importance and their genuine grievances pertaining to Police may be resolved on priority and some issues pertaining to civil administration may be taken up with the concerned departments for early redressal.
Keeping, in view, on the directions of Director Genl. of Police J&K, Shri Dilbag Singh IPS & Addl. Director Genl. of Police Jammu Zone Jammu, Shri Mukesh Singh-IPS,“Thana Diwas” was conducted in all districts of Jammu province here today .
The chairing officers also informed the participants that Police has made all efforts to set effective mechanism for the delivery of Police services and all the available apparatus is being utilized in delivering the services related to Police for the benefit of needy people/complainants during the event and assure that the their grievances will be forwarded to concerned departments for speedy disposal.
They also requested the participants that public should extend cooperation, assistance and suggestions of the public to improve police working will be welcomed so that effective working is ensured in overall policing.
