Kids among 15 injured as UP school bus overturns

Mahoba (UP), Sep 14 : Fifteen people, including children, were injured when a school bus overturned and dropped into a gorge in Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, a senior officer sources said here.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the local administration to carry out rescue and relief operations and ensure proper treatment to the children injured in the Sadar Kotwali area accident.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) RK Gautam said the mini bus of Sai Inter College was bringing the children from rural areas to the school.
“Near Paswara village in a bid to overtake a truck, the bus overturned and fell into a gorge,” he said.
He said that after hearing the cries of the children the local residents reached the spot and rushed the children to the district hospital.
“Total 15 persons, including the driver and the children, were injured in the accident. All the children are students of the junior section of the inter college,” Gautam said.
The doctors at the district hospital said that the condition of the children is stable.
“The police have detained the truck driver and the vehicle has been impounded. The matter is being investigated by the police,” Gautam said.
