Jammu, Aug 2 : The Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council have been compelled to readvertise notification inviting applications for Leftover Khelo India Centres from past Champion athletes of different disciplines for their engagement across the Union Territory.
The notification issued on Monday by the Secretary J&K Sports Council said that due to “poor response” of applicants for leftover centres in response to previous notification dated February 5 this year, applications through offline mode on prescribed format are again invited from domicile of Jammu and Kashmir.
The applications are invited for engagement of past champion Athletes as Coach and mentors in the the sports disciplines at the centres approved by Sports Authority of India under Khelo India District Level Centres to strengthen Sports ecosystem at the grass root levels and also to have sustained source of income for proponents.
The applications are invited for Football, Volleyball, Wrestling, Kho-Kho Korfball, Table Tennis and Yoga disciplines to engage past champion athletes in various Khelo India District Level Centres.
As per the order, the applicants who fulfil the eligibility criteria shall apply on the prescribed format duly supported by coaching experience, Sports achievements, Academic and technical qualification certificates, ID and address proof terms and conditions.
“The maximum age on the last date of receipt of application should be 40 years but relaxation shall be accorded in deserving cases upto one year subject to condition that candidate has represented in recognized International competitions,” order read.
The engagement is purely temporary and shall not confer any right for regularization.
The notification has also advised past champion Athletes to mandatorily register as a Coach on the National Sports repository system (NSRS) portal of SAI@https//nsrs.kheloindia.govt.in to become eligible to apply for support under the component.
The notification read that the documents alongwith application form shall reach into office of Secretary, J&K Sports Council, New Administrative Block/ Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar on or before August 23, 2021 and for query, applicants can contact Janangir Mir or Sahil Chopra, employees, J&K Sports Council.
