LIP leader Manwinder Singh Giaspura joins AAP

Chandigarh, Mar 2 (UNI) The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) got a major boost in Punjab as Lok Insaf Party (LIP) leader Manwinder Singh Giaspura joined the party here on Tuesday.

Giaspura joined the party in the presence of AAP Punjab affairs in-charge Jarnail Singh, Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Punjab Assembly Harpal Singh Cheema, MLA Baljinder Kaur and party’s youth wing co-president Anmol Gagan Mann.

Welcoming him into the party, the AAP leaders said that today the people of Punjab are seeing the AAP as their only ray of hope.

Manwinder Singh Giaspura came to fame with his investigations on the Hondh-Chillar massacre. He contested the Lok Sabha election on Lok Insaaf Party ticket from Fatehgarh Sahib and got 1,42,000 votes. He resigned from the LIP before the civic polls and fielded his candidates in an alliance with the AAP.

On the occasion, Jarnail Singh said that in the upcoming days, more high profile people are lined up for joining the AAP. He said that today the people see AAP as the only credible alternative that can change politics in the state and make the lives of the people better, similar to the change brought about in Delhi by Party’s national convener and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. “With the joining of such personalities, the strength of the AAP is set to increase manifold for the upcoming assembly elections,” he added.
