Mayawati demands Supreme Court-monitored probe into Pegasus spyware scandal

Lucknow, Jul 29 : Bahujan Samaj Party(BSP) chief Mayawati on Thursday demanded a Supreme Court-monitored investigation into the Pegasus espionage scandal to ‘bring out the truth’ before the public.
She said that the entire country is worried about the attitude of the central government towards the issue.
Taking to Twitter, Ms Mayawati said, “The Monsoon session of Parliament is witnessing continuous disruptions due to the mistrust and confrontation between the government and the Opposition on two extremely crucial issues–Pegasus snooping controversy and the contentious farm laws. The espionage scandal has attracted wide spread public attention yet the Centre is agreeing for an investigation. The entire country is worried about the Centre’s attitude”.
She further said, “In such a situation, BSP requests the Supreme Court to take cognizance of the Pegasus espionage case in the country and get it investigated under its supervision so that the truth about it can be known to the public. “
