More than 38 lakh Covid patients recover in the country

New Delhi, Sep 15 (UNI) India has the highest number of people who have recovered from the Coronavirus infection (COVID-19) compared to other countries of the world, with 38.5 lakh patients having gone home till date. Rajesh Bhushan, secretary of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, told a press conference here on Tuesday that the testing capacity of Corona in the country is increasing strongly and 76 lakh tests were conducted last week.

He informed that there are less than 5,000 active cases of Corona in 14 states and union territories in the country and in 18 states and union territories there are 5,000 to 50,000 active Covid cases. There are only four states in the country where there are more than 50,000 active cases of Corona.

Mr Bhushan said there are five states in the country where 60 per cent of the total Covid patients of the country are to be found. These include Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu and the remaining 39.6 per cent are from other states and union territories.

He informed that in the country from July till now, many states are seeing an increase and decrease in Corona cases every week. In the first week of July in Maharashtra, the number of Corona cases was about 6,000 per day which has now increased to more than 21,900. Similarly, there has been little stability in the last three weeks in Karnataka and from July 1 to August 18, these cases were continuously increasing and then there was a decrease and now a little stability has been seen.

Corona cases are increasing week by week in Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh is showing stability like Karnataka. There are early signs of a decrease in cases in Tamil Nadu.
