Nationalist, pro-people BJP always acknowledged sacrifices made by freedom fighters: Kavinder Gupta

JAMMU: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta on Monday welcomed the move of PM Narendra Modi led BJP Government whereby it excluded the ‘Abide with Me’, from the Beating Retreat Ceremony.
In a statement issued here, the senior party leader said that opposition is devoid of any substantial issue that is why it is raking unnecessary controversies by opposing the government’s move of excluding the aforesaid tune from the beating retreat ceremony. He said those having knowledge of the aforesaid hymn and its background can well gauge the logic behind the decision of the government.
“India being culturally resounding and rich needs nothing from western world to hold such an important ceremony and the decision to do away with this foreign hymn is also based on this very basis”, he said, adding that there is no need to get offended by this most rational change in the ceremony rather people should felt proud that this will pave way for something which will be indigenous.
Kavinder said that BJP is a nationalist party which has proved her mettle by bringing pro-people policies in the country and it is out of question that it will fail to acknowledge the sacrifices of freedom fighters.
He said that statues installed under the BJP regime like that of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Netaji, etc reflected the policies of Modi government and its respect for those who have laid down their lives for the motherland. “Those criticizing BJP Government over the aforesaid move are somewhat having a ‘slave’ mindset because they are highly influenced by those who have ruled the country for so many years”, he said, adding that this is their problem and not the problem of BJP Government or people of the country.
