NIA conducts multiple raids in WB, Jharkhand in Nimtita Railway Station bomb blast case

New Delhi, Mar 25 (UNI) The anti- terror probe agency NIA on Thursday said that it has conducted multiple raids in West Bengal and Jharkhand in connection with Nimtita Railway Station bomb blast case.

According to the probe agency officials, the NIA sleuths raided the premises of Biyon SK and Mohammudin SK aka Mohan Kasai in Murshidabad in West Bengal and at the premises of accused Shahidul Islam at Majhgaon in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand.

During the searches conducted by NIA in the case, several incriminating documents and electronic items have been seized, the agency officials said..

This case was initially registered as FIR 05/2021 dated February 17 at Azimganj GRPS in Murshidabad district under sections 120B, 307 and 326 of IPC and 3, 4 of Explosives Substances Act relating to a bomb blast at Nimtita Railway station that resulted in grievous injury to 27 persons including West Bengal Minister Jakir Hossain.

NIA took over the investigation and re-registered the case as RC-04/2021/NIA/DLI in March and during the course of investigation, section 16 and 18 of UA(P) Act were invoked.

Further investigation in the case has been under progress, the probe agency said.
