Over 30 new COVID-19 cases recorded in P’cherry in 24 hours

Puducherry, Nov 29 (UNI) Thirty-three more people were tested positive for Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) in the union territory in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of active cases here to 480.
No deaths were reported during the period.

According to the COVID-19 status for Sunday released by the health department, of the 2,926 swab tests taken yesterday, 33 tested positive for the virus. 21 new cases were reported in Puducherry region, six in Karaikal, one in Yanam and five in Mahe region. As many as 72 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours. 41 of them were from Puducherry region, 10 from Karaikal, and 21 from Mahe region.

Presently, 140 persons are being treated in Puducherry region, six in Karaikal, seven in Yanam and 25 in Mahe region. Another 302 positive cases are under home isolation in all the four regions of the union territory.

So far36935 persons were infected by the virus of which 35,846 were treated and discharged and 609 died leaving 480 active cases here.
The case fatality rate in the UT is 1.65 per cent and recovery rate 97.05 per cent.
