Over Rs 4 lakh fine recovered from 2,970 COVID SOP violators in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jul 15 : Jammu and Kashmir police realised a fine of over Rs 4 lakhs from 2,970 persons who violated COVID-19 guidelines in the Kashmir valley, where five persons were arrested, 25 shops sealed during the past 24 hours.
A police spokesman said this evening that continuing its efforts to curb the outbreak of 2nd wave of Coronavirus, during the last 24 hours, police have arrested five persons and also realised fine to the tune of Rs 4,00,180 from 2970 people throughout the Kashmir valley for violating the various guidelines, rules and Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) regarding Covid-19.
Besides, 25 shops were sealed for violating Covid norms in Kulgam, he said.
The special drive against the violators of Covid-19 guidelines and rules continued throughout all the districts of Kashmir Valley to ensure that people adhere to SOPs/guidelines envisaged by government to curb COVID-19 pandemic.
Community members are once again requested to cooperate with the Police in containing the spread of Coronavirus by following the SOPs/ guidelines/protocols for their own safety and for the safety of others. The special drive shall continue throughout the districts of Kashmir Valley to strengthen the safety measures.
