Puducherry: Rajavelu to be elected as Deputy Speaker unopposed

Mr P Rajavelu, N R Congress member from Nettapakkam constituency will be elected unopposed as the Deputy Speaker of the territorial assembly, it was announced here on Wednesday.
Rajavelu was the only one who filed his nomination papers for the post, when filing of nominations came to a close at 1200 hours on Wednesday.
Accompanied by Chief Minister N Rangasamy and Ministes Lakshminarayanan, Jayakumar and Chandra Priyanga, Rajvelu submitted his nomination papers to the Assembly Speaker Mounisamy. PWD Minister K Lakshminarayanan proposed and Agriculture Minister Jayakumar seconded the candidature of Rajavelu.
Speaker R Selvam will declare Rajavelu elected unopposed in the assembly on Thursday when the budget session of the budget session begins.
