Restoration of August 4, 2019 position main demand: NC MP

Srinagar, Jun 22 : Restoration of August 4, 2019 position will be the main demand of the Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) at the All-Party Meeting (APM) which will be presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 24 at New Delhi, National Conference (NC) Member of Parliament (MP) from Anantnag Justice (retd) Hasnain Masoodi said.

Talking to reporters before attending the PAGD crucial meeting at the residence of former Chief Minister and NC president Dr Farooq Abdullah, Justice Masoodi said today’s meeting of PAGD will discuss all issues with regard to Jammu and Kashmir in the contest of invitation for the APM meeting called by the Centre.

The meeting will deliberate on the invitation from the Centre to mainstream leaders of J&K. However, he said the main thrust will be on restoration of August 4, 2019 position. ‘We want development with dignity’, he said adding no compromise will be made with the dignity of the people of J&K.

In reply to a question he said Dr Farooq Abdullah, who is chairman of PAGD, will brief the media about the outcome of the meeting.

Meanwhile, former NC minister and three time MLA from Shia dominated Badgam district Aga Ruhullah Mehdi in a tweet said, “ My stand? It’s simple. Speak from the position of strength, not as desperate. Don’t seek your relevance in Delhi, find it in Kashmir. Suppress your individual political goals (greeds) & stand for your people, doors will open for you. Contrary to many, I think odds are in our favour.’
