Ayodhya, Sep 7: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) national president Asaduddin Owaisi said on Tuesday that the secular parties of the country do not want to allow Muslim leadership to come up.
“The whole world saw what happened in Ayodhya on December 6, 1992. Today secular parties are afraid to mention it as they fear to loose the vote bank,” he said.
Earlier, Mr Owaisi launched his party’s election campaign for Uttar Pradesh assembly polls 2022 from Rudauli assembly seat after performing ‘Ziyarat’ at the shrine of Sufi saint Sheikh Makhdoom Abdul Haq.
In his address, Mr Owaisi said, “I will not speak against any religion. This land of Ayodhya belongs to Ashfaq Ulla and Ram Prasad Bismil” .
He said in UP, Muslims are 21 percent and Yadavs are 9 percent.
“People tell us to meet Akhilesh and BSP for an alliance. But we are not like Muslims of Samajwadi Party. It will be on an equal footing. Don’t want a bailout, but want an equal share,” he said with a loud voice.
Mr Owaisi said that elections are coming in Uttar Pradesh and now the issue of Taliban will start. “We are saying that why don’t you ban Taliban? We are asking Modi”, he said while appealed to the people not to be fear of anything and to keep your courage high.
He said that the people of SP, BSP and BJP want that I don’t come to UP. “But I will come again and again. I will come every time and make a place in your hearts,” he added.
AIMIM chief said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave Rs 116 crores for the development of minorities in Yogi Adityanath government. But the Baba (Yogi) spent only Rs 16 crores.
Over 50 children died in Firozabad but UP government is only interest in changing names of places. “Will a name change can stop children from dying? Neither Akhilesh Yadav can speak against it nor BSP people,” he claimed.
Earlier in Lucknow, Mr Owaisi addressed a press conference saying that his party was preparing to contest around 100 assembly seats in UP.
Ms Shaista Amber, wife of mafia don from Prayagraj Atiq Ahmed, joined the AIMIM. Former MP Atiq is presently in jail in Ahmedabad.
