Shah mourns passing away of former Guj CM Keshubhai Patel

New Delhi, Oct 29 (UNI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday condoled the demise of BJP leader and former Gujarat Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel saying that the void created by his death will not be easy to fill in Gujarat politics.

Taking to twitter, he said, “Came to know the sad news of passing away of former Gujarat CM Keshubhai Patel. His long public life was devoted to the service of the people of Gujarat.

“Keshubhai played important role in strengthening Bhartiya Janata Party in Gujarat. As a trustee of Somnath Temple, he always supported the development of the temple and he will always be remained in our memory with his deeds and actions”, Mr Shah said in another tweet.

‘I express my deep condolences for his family’, the Home Minister added in his message.

Patel died here on Thursday after prolonged illness.
The 92-year-old BJP veteran was the Chief minister in 1995 and again during 1998-2001 and he was then succeeded by Mr Narendra Modi, now the Prime Minister of the country.
