Shah to visit Guwahati, Imphal on Dec 26, 27

New Delhi, Dec 24 (UNI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah will begin a two-day tour of Guwahati and Imphal on December 26, the Home Ministry officials said here on Thursday.

During his first leg of the tour of Guwahati on Saturday, he will attend a function at 1300 hrs, in which he will distribute financial grants to 8,000 traditional Vaisnavite monasteries of Assam Namghars under the Assam Darshan programme and lay the Foundation Stone for the development of ‘Batadrava Than’ as Cultural and tourist destinations.

Later on the same day, Mr Shah will be laying the foundation stone of the second New Medical College in Guwahati and nine Law Colleges to be established across Assam.

On December 27, the Home Minister will be visiting Manipur’s capital town Imphal, where he will be laying the foundation stones of the Churachandpur Medical College, the State Govt Guest House at Imphal, the Manipur Bhawan at Dwarka located in New Delhi, the Indian Institute of Technology at Muongkhong, the State Police headquarter at Imphal, and also the Integrated Command and Control Centre in Imphal, the officials added.
