SKUAST-J conducts “Hands on Training on Livestock Farm Practices”

Under the able guidance and leadership of Prof. J.P.Sharma, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu , the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry (FVSc & AH), R.S. Pura conducted one day training on the topic “Hands on Training on Livestock Farm Practices” at R.S.Pura where more than 20 farmers from different villages of district Jammu actively participated.

Dr. Ashraf Malik, Professor and Head, LFC welcomed the farmers and emphasized on the role and importance of dairy farming in farmers economy and stressed upon the waste management. Prof. M.S. Bhadwal, Dean, F.V.Sc & A.H., motivated the farmers to adopt new scientific techniques such as waste management via., Cow Dung Logs, Vermicomposting, Clean Milk Production, Silage making, Balanced ration, Green fodder production (round the year) and quail farming as a source of cheap  and good quality protein source.

Dr. Akhil Verma, Dr. Nazam Khan, Dr. Vikas Mahajan and Dr. Suraj Amrutkar provided hands on training to farmers on fodder production, silage making, clean milk production and vermicomposting.
