Telangana Govt deposits over Rs 5,145 cr into bank accounts of 54.37 lakh farmers

Telangana Agriculture Minister Singireddy Nirajan Reddy on Saturday said that the government has deposited Rs. 5,145.87 crore into the bank accounts of 54.37 lakh farmers under Rythu Bandhu scheme during the last four days.
In a statement here, Mr Reddy said that on the fifth day today, Rs 1050 crore was deposited into the bank accounts of 4.90 lakh farmers. The total agriculture land of 102.92 lakh acres were covered under the scheme so far, he said.
The highest amount of Rs 401.92 crore was deposited into the bank accounts of 3,97,260 farmers in Nalgonda, while the lowest amount of Rs 19.68 crore was deposited in the bank accounts of 27,819 farmers in Medchal Malkajgiri, the Minister said.
Stating that the cultivation has been increased in the state with the introduction of Rythu Bandhu scheme, Mr Reddy said that the yielding of crops was the evidence for this.
He said that 24.29 lakh metric tonnes of grains were procured during monsoon and Yasangi seasons in 2014-15 where in 2021, 90.04 lakh metric tons of grains procured in Yasangi season alone.
