Telangana sees 431 new COVID-19 cases

Telangana’s COVID-19 cumulative tally climbed to 3,04,298 so far with 431 new Coronavirus infections reported in the state until 2000 hours.
COVID-19 deaths surged to 1,676 with two patients succumbing to the deadly virus in the state in the last 24 hours translating a case fatality rate of 0.55 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.4 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin here on Wednesday.
As many as 228 people have recuperated from Coronavirus state-wide in the past 24 hours pushing the total number of recoveries thus far to 2,99,270 constituting a recovery rate of 98.34 per cent while the National recovery rate was 95.5 per cent.
The number of active cases in the state currently stand at 3,352 including 1,395 individuals in home or institutional isolation, the bulletin said.
Between Monday and Tuesday, 70,280 swab samples were tested in the state to detect the contagious virus and out of which the reports of 745 swab samples are awaited.
Cumulatively, more than 97.89 lakh COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.
As usual the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) contributed a maximum of 111 fresh Coronavirus cases followed by Medchal Malkajigiri district (37 ), Rangareddy district (31), Jagtiyal and Mancherial districts (21) each.
The remaining COVID-19 cases have been reported by other districts, the bulletin added.
