Tikait demands inquiry into Red Fort incident

New Delhi, Jan 27 (UNI) Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait on Wednesday demanded inquiry into the incident of people entering the Red Fort complex and hoisting a religious flag on Tuesday.

Talking to reporters, Mr Tikait demanded that the people, who entered the Red Fort and hoisted the flag there, should be identified and action be taken against them. He further demanded a probe into those political parties or individuals, who were behind this incident.

The Sanyukt Kisan Morcha had not called upon the farmers to go to the Red Fort. They were proceeding on the route already set, the farmer leader explained.

He said some of the routes already laid for the parade were cordoned off, which should also be investigated.

The farmer leader further said that whoever attempted to mount tractors on police personnel, should be identified and action should be taken against them.

After the agreement between the farmers associations and the police, it was agreed to take out the farmers’ parade in the capital on the occasion of Republic Day.
