Two dead, 15 injured after two-storey house collapses in Agra

Two people were killed and 15 others injured when a roof of a two-storey house collapsed during a birthday party on Monday night in RP Nagar Colony located in Dhandhupura village of Tajganj in Agra district, the police said here on Tuesday.
According to the police, 17 people were buried under the debris, of which villagers rescued 15 of them, however, two died in the incident.
The house belonged to one Gajendra Hari Verma and Aniket Chaudhary of the village. A birthday party was going on on the terrace in the second floor with around 60 relatives and friends.
At around 9.30 pm, the roof of the old house collapsed due to the weight of the people.
SSP Muniraj G said the deceased have been identified as Manjeet (24) and Arun (22), residents of village Dhandhupura. The 15 people who sustained injuries are being treated at a private hospital and SN Medical College.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, meanwhile, instructed the district administration to provide relief to the affected people. He has asked for proper treatment of the injured and removal of debris from the house.
