UP govt may allow Kanwar yatra this year

Lucknow, Jul 1 :Throwing a hint that the Government may allow Kanwar yatra this year, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked officials to issue necessary guidelines regarding this as devotees go to neighbouring states of Uttarakhand and Bihar for Jal Abhishek.
The Kanwar Yatra is likely to start from July 25.
Last year, the government had suspended the Kanwar yatra in view of the coronavirus pandemic after consultation with the religious gurus and Kanwar Sanghs in their respective states.
During the Covid 19 meeting here on Thursday, CM said that Kanwar Yatra is starting from July 25 during which a large number of devotees go to the states of Uttarakhand and Bihar for Jalabhishek. “In view of Corona, necessary guidelines should be issued in relation to travel after communicating with the concerned state government,” he said.
During that meeting he also ordered that the bills of government employees, both permanent and temporary, serving in all the departments of the state should be paid immediately. “The file of payment related to the salary of the employees should not be kept pending, otherwise the accountability of the concerned will be fixed,” he said.
The Chief Minister said that the updated status of Gharauni and Varasat campaign should be reviewed by the Revenue Department.
The Chief Minister said that the works related to the Defence Industrial Corridor should be completed expeditiously. “Large investment proposals have been received by many of the world’s biggest companies in the defense sector. Soon the foundation stone of the Aligarh node of the Defence Corridor will be laid,” he said and added that this corridor, which will fulfil the resolve of Make in India, will prove helpful in making the country self-reliant in the field of defence.
Paying homage to the people who died from Corona, the Chief Minister said that ‘Smriti Vatika’ should be established in their memory in the Gram Panchayats. He said that people should be motivated to participate in the Van Mahotsav.
The Chief Minister said that cleanliness, sanitization, fogging and anti-larva spray should be continuously sprayed in rural and urban areas. He said that all the construction works related to community toilets and village secretariat should be completed at the earliest.
