UP Mission Oxygen: Excise, Sugar Industry setting up Oxygen Generators in 75 districts

Lucknow, May 17 (UNI) The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh is making every effort to increase the supply of oxygen in the state. Following the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, now the departments of Excise and Sugar Industry and Sugarcane Development Departments are going to install oxygen generators in hospitals to save the Corona patients in the state.

Many as 79 hospitals in 75 districts which included several Community Health Centres (CHCs) in urban and rural areas have been identified, officials here on Monday said. Through this facilites, the Excise and Sugar Industry departments may be able to supply oxygen to about 3500 beds.

In setting up these oxygen generators, an investment of about Rs 50-60 lakh per hospital will incur. The concerned DM and CMO will undertake the task with the help of the concerned excise unit and sugar mills. To request for these machines, a letter has also been sent to Air India, so that these oxygen generators can be airlifted as soon as possible.
The order for supply of oxygen generators have already been placed to 54 companies, according to Sanjay Bhoosreddy, the Additional Chief Secretary, Excise, Sugar Industry and Sugarcane Development here on Monday disclosed.

Among the 40 districts in which the selection process of installing oxygen generators has been completed, two hospitals each are in Bareilly, Sitapur, Amroha, Gorakhpur, Shamli and Kushinagar
