Uttarakhand CM Tirath Singh Rawat quits

Dehradun, Jul 2 : Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat on Friday submitted his resignation to Governor Baby Rani Maurya here, nearly four months after he took charge for the coveted post.

Earlier an hour ago, amid strong speculations of an announcement of change of guard in the state, Mr Rawat addressed a press conference, however, concealed the major development of the hill state in his nearly 8 minute speech.

In the media briefing, Mr Rawat lauded the achievements of the state government for the past one year.

Pertinent to mention here that Mr Rawat was in Delhi for the last three days where he also met the party president J P Nadda. Meanwhile, according to sources, BJP legislature party meeting is scheduled to be held at 1500 hrs on Saturday tomorrow at the party’s state headquarters, here.
