Vaccinate and take precautions to fight Covid: PM

New Delhi, Aug 29 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said both vaccination and taking precautions are required to fight the Covid-19 pandemic, adding that over 62 crore anti-coronavirus vaccine doses have been administered in India.
In the 80th edition of his radio program Mann Ki Baat, Mr Modi stressed both vaccines and preventive measures are required to fight the pandemic.

“…we have one more thing to remember. ‘Dawai bhi… Kadai bhi’, vaccinate and take precautions. More than 62 crore vaccine doses have been administered in the country, but still, we have to be careful, be vigilant,” the Prime Minister said.

He also extended his greetings for the upcoming festive season.

Home Ministry in a notification on Saturday extended the Covid containment measures till September 30 and asked all states and union territories to take steps to avoid large gatherings during the upcoming festive season.

India reported 45,083 new cases and 460 fatalities due to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, the union health ministry said on Sunday.

According to the latest statement released by the Health Ministry on Sunday morning, India’s cumulative vaccination coverage has crossed the 63 Crore landmark on Saturday.
