Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu, Prof. J.P. Sharma visited Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, R.S Pura campus and took stock of upcoming facilities. He inaugurated the Large Animal Operation Theatre (OT) in the Division of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology (VSR) and newly built Dean residence. At the outset, Prof. M.S. Bhadwal, Dean, F.V.Sc & A.H. welcomed the Vice-Chancellor and gave an overall view of new civic amenities and infrastructural assets being created in the faculty. Prof. Sharma took round of the campus and inspected the on-going civil works like construction of girl’s hostel, professor quarter, faculty club, hatchery site etc.
Dr. H.R. Bhardwaj, HoD, Division of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology introduced the teaching and non-teaching staffs of the division to Vice-Chancellor and apprised about large animal OT. He said that the large animal OT is spread in 1600 sq.ft. area and is well equipped with all modern veterinary facilities like hydraulic bed, multi-parameter monitor, ECG machine, electro-cautery, upgraded hoof and dentistry instruments. Dr. Bhardwaj also elaborated the Hon’ble VC about the new facilities and approved upcoming amenities in the division. Further, Prof. Sharma garlanded the Goddess Saraswati and planted ornamental tree in front of the main entrance of newly inaugurated large animal OT.
While interacting with the students, Prof. Sharma appreciated the paintings done by NSS volunteers on the wall of student’s canteen. He was accompanied by statutory officers of the University namely Dr S. K. Gupta, Registrar, Dr Pradeep Wali, Director Research, Estate Officer and other officials of the University.
