Weekly markets will now open fully outside containment zones in Delhi : Kejriwal

New Delhi, Oct 7 (UNI) The weekly markets in Delhi will be able to function completely from now on, apart from the containment zones, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on Wednesday.

He said that the weekly markets across the city will now open fully from immediate effect, but, outside the containment zones marked by the administration.

He said that till now only two such markets a day, per zone were being allowed, said taking to twitter.

The marginalised will get a lot of relief from the opening of these markets, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal added in his tweet.

Talking of the cinema halls in the city, Kejriwal said that from October 15 the halls will also be allowed to function, however, he added that they will have to follow all the guidelines and operate as per the central government’s SOPs given out keeping in view the COVID 19 situation.

The government on September 30 had issued new guidelines for the unlock phase 5, wherein it was announced that from October 15, cinema halls, theatres, multiplexes can operate at 50 per cent of their total capacity.

‘ Now all the weekly markets will be able to open. Till now only two such markets a day, per zone were allowed to function. The poor will get a lot of relief from the same,’ Delhi CM said in a tweet.

‘From October 15 cinema halls in Delhi will be allowed to open. However, they will have to follow all the SOPs and guidelines laid by the central government,’ Delhi CM added.
