
Leh, August – Ladakh is on the path to inclusive growth, with the administration dedicated to ensuring development that reflects the region’s diverse needs and aspirations. Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Shri Kavinder Gupta reiterated this vision during a series of interactions with multiple delegations at the LG Secretariat in Leh.
During the day, Shri Gupta engaged with Chairman/CEC of LAHDC Leh, Adv Tashi Gyalson, and all four district heads from Leh—Tsering Sandup (Nubra), Ishey Spalzang (Changthang), Stanzin Chosphel (Leh), and Kochok Ishey (Sham). The group highlighted vital concerns such as the Karakoram Wildlife Sanctuary, pending progress on the Phyang-Nubra power transmission line, and improving porter wages for those assisting the Army in Siachen.
In another meeting, Ven Bhikkhu Sanghasena, founder of the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC), along with ex-MLA Tsering Samphel, invited the LG to the upcoming International Peace Conference from August 23–25 in Leh. They also shared updates on MIMC’s social initiatives like free healthcare, education, and wellness facilities.
Colonel Kamal Pandey, Commandant of the Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre, led a team of serving and retired Army personnel to pay respects and discuss preparations for the ceremonial farewell of Ashoka Chakra awardee Naib Subedar Chhering Mutup (Retd). The delegation also mentioned the readiness of over 350 ex-servicemen volunteers for emergency response in the region.
Further, representatives from the Ladakh Pencak Silat Association approached the LG to advocate for the creation of Khelo India Centres of Excellence in Leh and Kargil, underlining the importance of building sports infrastructure. They also provided updates on the ongoing 9th Pencak Silat Federation Cup 2025.
Lastly, staff from District De-Addiction Centres in Leh and Kargil raised key operational challenges and sought administrative support for better service delivery.
Shri Kavinder Gupta emphasized his unwavering focus on responsive governance, assuring that Ladakh’s development will always prioritize public welfare and participatory growth.
