BJP ready to face local body elections: State prez

Puducherry, Dec 27 (UNI) Stating that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is prepared to face local body elections, BJP state president V Saminathan demanded that Chief Minister V Narayanasamy should announce local body elections in the UT forthwith.

In a statement here on Sunday,Saminathan said in the past 50 years congress rule, local body election was held only once in 2006.Forgetting this,Narayanasamy is blaming Lt.Governor for the failure to hold the elections which is his usual lie.

Out of apprehension that the corruptions of the ruling party will come out if local body elections were held and also discriminating power will be a threat to the government, congress party delayed the local body elections. Which Lt.Governor blocked the holding of local body elections in the past 45 years,Saminathan wondered. The stance of the congress party need to be condemned,he said.

He said even after the supreme court direction, the congress government is delaying the election citing reasons such as de-limitation of wards etc.The congress party volunteers themselves are moving the court to stall elections and as such the chief minister do not have any evidence with him to prove that the Lt.Governor is blocking local body elections here.Pointing out the chief minister seeking an answer from the prime minister, Saminathan said that the chief minister have no quality to challenge the Pm and an ordinary BJP volunteer is enough to have a debate with him.
