Govt patronising hate mongers: Congress

New Delhi, The Congress on Tuesday accused the Modi government of patronising those spreading hatred and jailing those who speak against it.
“Those who are spreading hatred are getting patronage from the government. They will become BJP leaders and star campaigners. But one who speaks against it are put behind bars,” Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate said here after the arrest of news website AltNews co-founder Mohammad Zubair.
Attacking the BJP, Shrinate said: “What was his fault ? He was bringing the truth to us. You may try and silence one person but there are thousands who will speak up.”
Delhi Police on Monday arrested Zubair for allegedly hurting the sentiments of the followers of a religion.
The police registered a case after getting a complaint from a twitter handle wherein it was alleged that Zubair tweeted a questionable image with a purpose to deliberately insult the god of a particular religion
