Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanamsn(TTD) will conduct the free community weddings program -‘Sri Kalyanamastu’- at all district headquarters in Andhra Pradesh on August 7. Informing this to to media persons in front of Lord Venkateswara temple here , TTD Chairman Y V Subba Reddy said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to relaunch the program for weaker sections that was stopped after the sad demise of late AP Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
He said the TTD Pundits had selected the first event of the Chandramana Shubakrut Nama Samvatsara on August 7 morning between 0807 hours-0817 hours on Anuradha Nakshatra and Simha lagnam.
The TTD Chairman said the objective was to reduce the financial burden of their children on parents of weaker sections. Reddy said the eligible grooms and brides should register their names at the offices of the concerned district collector, RDO or Tahsildar. He said if the other state governments also come forward, the TTD is ready to conduct such free weddings.
