Panaji, Trinamool Congress on Monday accused Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress of betraying Goa.
”Our prediction that BJP and Congress in Goa cannot be trusted has come true. The two are different sides of the same coin. The people of Goa have been betrayed and taken for a ride by both these parties,” TMC Rajya Sabha leader Derek O’Brien told reporters.
He stressed that the only party which can be trusted to defeat the BJP and that is the TMC. ”We are here to tell the people of Goa that we keep our promises,”’ he said.
Reassuring Goa TMC’s commitment for the people of Goa, O’Brien emphasized, ‘‘Our promise was that if we come to power in Goa, TMC would deliver on its 3 promises – Griha Laxmi Card, Yuva Shakti Card and Mhaje Ghar, Malki Hakk.’
‘‘We are here to work for the people of Goa and ensure that we deliver Griha Laxmi Scheme, through which a direct transfer of Rs. 5000 per month ( Rs. 60,000 yearly) will be made to woman of every household, Every Goan youth to be eligible for Rs 20 lakh loan through Yuva Shakti Card and title and ownership rights & 50,000 subsidized homes for the homeless,’’ he said.
Meanwhile, Goa Trinamool Congress held a Core Committee meeting attended by 42 members of the committee. O’Brien said, ‘‘The presence today of the leaders shows that you can trust Goa TMC.’ Emphasizing the party’s commitment.” He said the party will be announcing the state committee well ahead of schedule.
