SKUAST-Jammu to Hold 9th Convocation
Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu, a premier ICAR-accredited ‘Grade A’ institution is all set to organise its 9th Convocation on Monday, August 4, 2025, at the Baba Jitto Auditorium, Main Campus, Chatha, Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion Prof B N Tripathi Hon’ble Vice Chancellor SKUAST Jammu informed that Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha Ji, will grace the ceremony as the Chief Guest, honouring the accomplishments of the University and its graduating students. The event will also be attended by Hon’ble Chief Minister Jenab Omar Abdullah, Hon’ble Agriculture Minister Jenab Javed Ahmed Dar along with Hon’ble MLAs, Members of the Board of Management and University Council highlighting the academic and developmental relevance of SKUAST-Jammu in the Union Territory.
During the convocation, a total of 446 candidates who have successfully completed all academic requirements will be conferred with degrees across various faculties. The breakdown is as follows:
- Master’s Degrees (M.Sc./M.V.Sc./MBA-ABM): 157 candidates
- Doctoral Degrees (Ph.D.): 46 candidates
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture (B.Sc. Hons. Agriculture): 97 candidates
- Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Sciences (B.V.Sc. & A.H.): 117 candidates
- B.Tech. in Biotechnology: 29 candidates
In recognition of academic excellence, 08 meritorious students will be receiving Gold Medals across different faculties.
Apart from degree distribution, the University will also honour its innovators, entrepreneurs and contributors to academia through special certificates:
- Patent Holders who have contributed to innovation and intellectual property in agriculture and allied fields.
- University based Startups that have demonstrated excellence in agri-entrepreneurship and innovation under SKUAST-Jammu’s incubation ecosystem.
- Professors of Practice who have brought field level expertise and industry experience to strengthen academic-industry linkages.
These recognitions reflect the University’s broader vision of fostering a knowledge-driven and innovation led agricultural transformation in the region.
