
Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) organized a university-level debate competition under the Viksit Bharat-Youth Connect Programme, an initiative by the Government of India. The event was held under the guidance of Prof. B.N. Tripathi, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-J.
The programme saw huge participation of students from all seven faculties of the University with 61 students participating at the Faculty level events. Fourteen winning students advanced to the university-level finale. Dr. Anish Koul, a PhD scholar from the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, and Ms. Kashish from the Faculty of Horticulture and Forestry emerged as the overall winners at the University level.
The event was meticulously organized under the supervision of Dr. Sanjay Khar, Director Education, with support from Dr. Sudhakar Dwivedi, Dean Students’ Welfare. Dr. Sanjay Guleria, Dean, Faculty of Basic Sciences, served as the convener, while Dr. Manish Kumar Sharma, Professor and Head, Statistics & Computer Science, acted as co-convener. The debate was evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges, including Dr. Amrish Vaid, Director Extension; Dr. Vikas Tandon, Dean Faculty of Horticulture and Forestry and Dr. Amit Jasrotia, Professor, Faculty of Horticulture and Forestry.
