Farmers were concerned about ectoparasites and endoparasites. They also had a query regarding mastitis (Chardrika) among milch cattle. Dr Neelesh Sharma quenched the inquisitions of the farmers by telling them about dos and don’ts to avoid mastitis among the livestock. He also stressed about the precautions to reduce losses due to anestrus and repeat breeding among the cattle. The farmers were also told about many health issues that are associated with endoparasites and ectoparasites, which should be considered during the management of the livestock. Further, the team encouraged the farmers for regular and timely vaccination against infectious diseases like Foot and Mouth disease, Hemorrhagic septicemia, PPR, and Black Quarter etc, for a profitable livestock venture.
Dr. Pankaj talked about the noxious weeds and toxic fodder. He stated that feeding on the cattle and buffaloes on toxic weeds can be seriously hazardous.
